A Senior's Guide to Finding the Right Business Model for Your Content Creativity - Part Two

Selling Your Own Digital Information Products

If you want to become a leader in a niche, and you have a lot of information and insight to share with your audience, then you may want to start out as a vendor who sells info products.

Niche: ADJECTIVE

1.      denoting products, services, or interests that appeal to a small, specialized section of the population.

"other companies in this space had to adapt to being niche players" · "a niche show that ran on late-night television" · "the video game industry is no longer niche"

These can be written or recorded content courses. They can also be a mixture of both if you prefer to go that route. The key to succeeding as a digital info product developer is to take special care in learning about the launch process.

As long as your eBook or video course is filled with good information, you won’t have to spend as much time worrying about whether or not someone else has already tackled the topic.

There are many info products that do well in the marketplace even if they are subpar in quality. The reason for this is that the vendor has created a professional sales letter that convinces the consumer to buy it.

They also focused more of their time on recruiting the proper affiliates to promote for them. You want to have the best of both worlds. You want to gain a reputation as a stellar leader in your niche who delivers quality information.

You also want to make sure your info product isn’t stalling out in sales because you failed to prepare a proper launch. If you take the route of becoming a digital information product vendor, you don’t have to stop with just one course.

You can design an entire suite of courses that affiliates can promote for you over the years. For example, if you were teaching Internet marketing, you wouldn’t just have one eBook about Internet marketing as a whole.

There’s too much information to cover in one course. Instead, you would have one course on email marketing, one course on blogging, one course on getting traffic, and so on.

Even then, you could continue drilling down with your topics to create more info products. Take traffic for example, you could have a course on solo ads, one on social networking traffic, one specifically on Pinterest, others on SEO, etc.

With info product development, you stand to make tens of thousands of dollars quickly if you do the launch preparation and networking correctly. If you create a funnel with a front end product and one or two one-time offer upgrades at higher price points, then it will bring on more affiliates.
